The "Corvette Servo" that OPT sells that I am reviewing here is NOT the "Superior 2nd Gear Super Servo" so I DID use "spring A". If you get the whole package like I did, the "SUPER SERVO" "4th Apply Piston & Cover" comes with it's own instructions that say to leave out "spring A" if "this servo is being used along with the "Superior 2nd Gear Super Servo". Here was my Q and the A for someone else's benefit. Sent the question in via the web, and didn't get an answer until the Tuesday after I installed the parts on Saturday. Only ding is that I called OPT for one question, and got sent to VM. Definitely a DIY with a little RTM and "YouTube Certification training". Love it!ĭid in an afternoon on a gravel driveway, BTW. I will likely do this to my son's 99 Silverado, and any other 4L6圎 vehicle I own going forward. 3-4 is noticeable now but again, not slammed. Not measured yet, but am pretty sure I'll see in increase in MPG. At 25% throttle I 1-2 and 2-3 happens before 35 mph and keeps RPMs below 2000. Shifts are firm and confident but not slammed. Refit the original sealing ring onto the 4th Piston. Fit the RED O-ring into the OD groove of the Housing. Fit the small sealing ring to the 2nd piston & slide the Housing over the sealing ring. NOW, after installing the Corvette Servo, AC Delco long servo pin, and the Shift Super Servo 4th Apply Piston and cover, the tranny is like new. Fit the JUST 2nd Piston into the Servo Bore to seat the the sealing ring. 3-4 had always been soft & barely perceptible. 1-2 shift was delayed until 3500 RPM, and then 2-3 happened almost immediately. GM, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC, Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Hummer, Isuzu, Saab, including: This servo works in all makes of this transmission. The kit comes with all of the necessary seals for installation including the outer cover o-ring. Any travel over 1/8” can create a situation of no overdrive. We are finding that when using the billet overdrive servo in conjunction with the corvette servo, this correct travel range is crucial. The long servo pin option on this item can help to get this travel within the correct range. Getting your servo within this travel range can make the shifts even quicker and add more miles and years to your transmission’s life. The recommended servo travel is 1/16”-1/8”.

Right away you'll notice faster and firmer 1-2 shifts and even slightly better 2-3.
